ABSTRACT
The detailed three dimensional architecture of biological tissue and electrodiusion effects of ions have been largely neglected in modeling studies of cellular electrical activity. Here, we develop a model of cellular electrical activity that takes into
account both of these effects. We derive the system of partial differential equations that govern cellular electrical activity and
discuss its biological signicance. This is followed by a brief discussion of numerical simulations and a mathematical analysis of
the system of equations.
